RMII

2nd semester

2020

Studio headphones

RMII I developed in the context of the main module "2 out of 36" in the second semester. In this module, the focus was on implementing two shorter projects quickly and precisely. Special emphasis was placed on 3D visualization, while the design process was not at the center. The topics for the two projects were selected from six different subject areas: mobility tools, personal tools, digital tools, entertainment tools, kitchen tools, and living tools.

In each of these areas, there were five predefined products as well as the opportunity to choose one freely.

I revised the project in 2023. In this context, the headphones were rebuilt in Blender and minor design changes were made. The visual representation of the project in Blender was also redone.

Studio headphones

I developed RMII as part of the main module "2 out of 36" in the second semester. In this module, the focus was on quickly and precisely implementing two shorter projects. Special emphasis was placed on 3D visualization, while the design process was not the main focus. The topics for the two projects were selected from six different theme areas: mobility tools, personal tools, digital tools, entertainment tools, kitchen tools, and living tools. In each of these theme areas, there were five predefined products as well as the option to freely choose one.

I revised the project in 2023. As part of this, the headphones were rebuilt in Blender and minor changes were made to the design. The visual representation of the project in Blender was also redone.

Synergy of sound and elegance

RM II is a studio headphone that stands out for its reduced design language. The design convinces with clear shapes and beautiful lines. RM II changes the market for studio headphones by combining the closed construction with the open one.

Two in one

By combining open and closed construction in one headphone, both worlds are brought together. Purchasing two headphones is no longer necessary. By default, the headphone is in closed form. The sound barely leaks out, and the headphone offers little spatial sound.

By pressing on the side of both ear cups, the headphones are transformed from the closed design to the open one. The sides of the headphones open up, creating a gap. This allows the sound waves to escape, creating a more spatial listening experience.
